Knits and Bobs Photoshoot | Soho, London
If there's one thing which I love about photography, it's fulfilling the expectations of clients when we meet to create magic in front of the camera.
I had the pleasure a few weeks ago to do a brand shoot with Kireen. The proud owner of 'Knits and Bobs'.
If you haven't already, give the website a visit. All information will be at the end of this post. You will find a collection of knitwear ideal for the current autumn/winter season.
Our shoot took us into Soho, West London. The streets bustling once again with tourists and visitors enjoying their weekend in the local bars and restaurants. The weather was definitely good for it...for once.
We began at a pub named 'Bar Soho'. I found the black backdrop with the brown door ideal to shoot Kireen casually knitting whilst enjoying a drink in the warm weather. I certainly feel the mood was captured, almost in a way which suggested that she wasnโt actually in London.
We continued our shoot walking further into the heart of Soho. As the roads in the area were pedestrianised, I wanted the attention to be drawn to my subject doing something unconventional in the middle of the street.
๐LET'S BRING OUT THE NEEDLES AND YARN!! ๐
Knitting as if no one was watching, Kireen proceeded to take the stage. The sun as her spotlight. The audience watching curiously. The shot was created.

The shoot took us towards Piccadilly Circus where more shots were taken along the way before embarking onto Mayfair to finish our 1hr 30mins session.
Funnily enough, many people often look at knitting as either something you briefly learnt in primary school or an old past time utilised deep into retirement. I'm definitely one of those people I just described. Not Kireen however. There isn't a single moment where an opportunity can be created to stitch.
Kireen has definitely changed the landscape on how I personally look at a needle and yarn.
Will you see me knit in the near future however?
WATCH THIS SPACE!! ๐๐๐.
A great afternoon shooting. Cannot wait to do it again.
